TechnestTechnest

Company

Technest builds money infrastructure for Africa.

We're a fintech building the rails businesses and people use to move money across borders. Approvals in Nigeria and Kenya, partnerships in every other market we serve, and expanding.

The Technest story

Why we exist.

Moving money across borders is still harder, slower, and more expensive than it should be, especially in and out of Africa. Anyone who's sent a remittance, paid an international supplier, or tried to integrate a cross-border payout API knows the friction. We started Technest to change that, one product at a time.

We chose a two-product structure deliberately. Swappr serves the businesses that move money on behalf of others: the remittance operators, aggregators, NGOs, and marketplaces who need reliable infrastructure. Pouch serves the people on the other end of those flows: individuals, families, and the diaspora who deserve the same quality of experience.

Both products share infrastructure, regulatory licensure, and a single engineering team. That means improvements to one benefit the other. It also means we hold ourselves to the same standard whether we're shipping for a finance director or a first-time user.

We're building from Lagos, operating across Africa, and pointed at the rest of the world.

Our principles

How we work.

Regulation is the floor, not the ceiling

We're licensed and certified because we have to be. We exceed the requirements because we want to be trusted.

Boring infrastructure, delightful products

The plumbing should be invisible. The experience on top of it should feel inevitable. We invest deeply in both.

Build for the people who pay us

Whether that's a business integrating our API or a person sending money to their mother, we measure ourselves by whether the work made their life easier.

Africa first, world next

We start with the corridors and customers we understand best. We build the kind of product that travels well.

Where we're based

Lagos, with reach.

Our office is at 8 Providence Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, Nigeria. Our team works from Lagos and elsewhere, our products serve customers across Africa, and our ambition is global.
